Azure SQL Data Warehouse Limited Public Preview launches and 21 partners announced

Microsoft has just announced the limited public preview for their Azure SQL Data Warehouse service for data warehouses in the 5-10 TB range. The data warehouse-as-a-service offers several benefits such as the flexibility to control computing and storage independently of each other, the ability to pause a database and only use the storage function, a full SQL Server experience including PolyBase (which allows users to combine queries for structured and unstructured data) as well as several hybrid options.

21 partners have already implemented Azure SQL Data Warehouse into their organization, each using the service in their own unique way from Dell Statistica’s advanced analytics platform to InfoLibrarian’s metadata management. Here’s the complete list of companies currently using Azure SQL Data Warehouse; Attunity, Birst, Bryte Systems, ClearStory Data, Coffing Data Warehousing, Dell Statistica, Dundas Software, Inbrein, InfoLibrarian, Informatica, JReport, LogiAnalytics, Looker, Qlik, Redpoint Global, SiSense, SnapLogic, SQL Sentry, Tableau, Targit and Yellowfin.

Interested parties can sign up now for the Azure SQL Data Warehouse Limited Public Preview and will be notified of acceptance as the preview rolls out to more participants.
