Lumia 1020

Nokia as a company is done with the mobile business, since the device and services division is acquired by Microsoft. With the mobile devices being under the leadership of the Redmond giant, it seems the company’s talent is being approached by the competitors. In fact, Nokia’s camera expert Ari Partinen will be joining Apple next month. The news was confirmed by Ari himself on his Twitter account.

Partinen tweeted, “Today will be my last day working for the amazing #Lumia family. In June I will start a new chapter in Cupertino, California. Much love!” In a follow up tweet, he mentioned that the company is none other than Apple, which should come as a surprise to all Nokia fans.

The camera on the iPhone is decent enough, and with the new hiring, it seems the Cupertino-based company is looking to kick things off in the camera department, and provide a better camera experience with more options. While he’s not the only one working on the cameras on Lumia devices, it almost makes sense that Apple will make use of the talent in the upcoming iOS devices.
