Another security update for Windows 10 build 10240 (KB3074681) rolls out as release date nears

If you are running Windows 10 build 10240, you are probably wondering why your PC either rebooted to install an update or took longer than expected to boot due to the installation of an update. That’s because Microsoft rolled out another security update today (yes, on a Saturday). No specific details were given about the update aside from the typical “a security issue has been identified” description.

“A security issue has been identified in a Microsoft software product that could affect your system. You can help protect your system by installing this update from Microsoft. For a complete listing of the issues that are included in this update, see the associated Microsoft Knowledge Base article. After you install this update, you may have to restart your system,” the update description reads.

Windows 10 is set for release on July 29th, just a few days away. Stay tuned for our comprehensive review (including video) of Windows 10 on release day.
