After testing for the two features began on the Xbox beta apps just a few days ago, the main Xbox apps for Android and iOS devices can now download screencaps and game clips and share them via social media beginning today.

These features came as part of today’s updates to the Android and iOS apps which should be available in all regions by now.

Here’s the full release notes:

  • Share game captures with friends. In response to your feedback, we’ve added the ability to share game captures with friends and across social media
  • Easily save to phone. Save your game clips and screenshots to your phone
  • From your Captures page, click the existing share button to view these new options

The official Xbox apps are a convenient tool for Xbox One loyalists as they let gamers add and remove friends, view friend activity, and activate game downloads without having to start up their consoles.
