ChatGPT gets new superpowers: Image-based responses and permanent web search ability

OpenAI, the company behind the famed ChatGPT chatbot, recently announced the launch of real-time internet browsing for its users. After reintroducing the beta version of this capability three weeks ago, the company faced numerous challenges in providing a smooth experience to its users.

For the most part, ChatGPT has relied on data sets that only go up until September 2021. Consequently, users would often receive responses such as, “I don’t have the ability to browse the internet in real-time,” when they inquired about current events. However, OpenAI has made it their mission to enhance ChatGPT’s capabilities by enabling real-time browsing and search engine integration.

Taking a cautious approach, OpenAI started rolling out the feature gradually while also providing an option for website owners to opt out of web crawling.

Finally, on Tuesday, the major AI startup made an official announcement: Browse with Bing is out of beta and has become a permanent addition. This means users can now access real-time information during their interactions with ChatGPT.

In addition to real-time browsing, OpenAI has been experimenting with another cutting-edge technology. They have introduced DALL-E 3, the latest version of their image-generation artificial intelligence model, to ChatGPT. The feature allows ChatGPT to generate images based on user prompts.

However, as of now, it is only available to a select group of users in beta mode.

The tech startup describes this addition as a remarkable advancement, stating, “From a simple sentence to a detailed paragraph, ask ChatGPT what you want to see, and it will translate your ideas into exceptionally accurate images.”

As OpenAI continues to refine and expand the capabilities of ChatGPT, users can look forward to even more exciting updates in the future. Let us know your views in the comments section below.
