Xolo expected to launch a new Windows Phone soon, spotted on imports tracking website Zauba

In the past few months, we’ve seen many manufacturers launch entry-level Windows Phone handsets. Not too long ago, India’s Lava launched the extremely affordable Iris Win 1 in the region, which costs just Rs. 4,999. Now, it seems we’re going to see another budget-friendly Windows Phone handset see the light of the day in India.

Xolo, another popular manufacturer which also comes under Lava International, is expected to launch the Win Q1000 in the coming weeks. The company already has a very attractive Windows Phone 8.1 handset, the Win Q900s, in its product portfolio and it seems they are going to be offering even more. Recently, the alleged handset was spotted on the imports tracking website Zauba, which shows 10,000 units being shipped from China to Delhi, alongside 2,000 dummy units.

This hints at the imminent launch of the handset in the coming weeks. The estimated price is around Rs 5,400, but it’s not the retail price of the handset, which the consumers will pay. The final price will be slightly higher, since it also takes into account the duties, taxes and other overheads, making its price higher than Rs 5,400.

We don’t know much about the specifications it will bring at the table, but it seems the handset will come with a 5-inch display, opposed to 4.7-inch in the Q900s. Furthermore, the alleged device also offers dual-SIM support which is fairly popular in the region. There’s a likelihood that Xolo may introduce the Q1000 with improved specifications compared to the Win Q900s.

Nonetheless, before you get to excited, don’t expect it to offer eye-popping specifications. It will be yet another entry-level Windows Phone smartphone which will offer basic specifications making it well worth for its asking price. There’s no official word from Xolo, but we’ll update you as soon as the handset is officially announced.

Thanks for the tip, Hitesh!
