If Microsoft has yet to resume the public rollout of the Windows 10 October 2018 Update, the company has just shipped a new cumulative for the build 17763 which is now available for Slow and Release Preview Insiders. This new patch bumps the build number to 17763.104, and it fixes several issues related to Task Manager, Microsoft Edge and Connected Standby. This new build also adresses compatibility problems with drivers, third-party antivirus and virtualization software, and you can check the full list of fixes below:

  • We have fixed the issue where the incorrect details were being shown in Task Manager under the “Processes” tab.
  • We fixed an issue where in certain cases IME would not work in the first process of a Microsoft Edge user session.
  • We fixed an issue where in some cases applications would become unresponsive after resuming from Connected Standby.
  • We fixed several issues causing application compatibility problems with 3rd-party antivirus and virtualization products.
  • We fixed several issues with driver compatibility.

For now, consumers who already installed the Windows 10 October 2018 Update before Microsoft pulled it should still be on the “Patch Tuesday” build 17763.55, which brought a fix for the infamous deleted files issue. We’ll see if Microsoft eventually ships the build 17763.104 to these users, but that won’t happen before Windows Insiders first share their feedback about this cumulative update with Microsoft.
