Microsoft released a number of new features for the Windows 11 Release Preview Channel, features that will be released “in October” (hint: October’s already almost half over) to production for PCs running Windows 11 2022. This latest release, 22621.675 (KB5019509) includes tabs in File Explorer, and a new feature called “Suggested Actions” (*cough* – ads) in the copy experience “when you copy phone numbers or future dates, we provide suggestions, such as make a call with Teams or Skype or add an event in the Calendar app,” or “it looks like you’re trying to make a call, would you like to sign up for Teams for that?”

A taskbar overflow menu, one of a long list of features available in Windows 10 that went missing in Windows 11, and the ability to use nearby sharing with an expanded range of devices round out the feature set for this Release Preview Channel release.

Are you excited for tabs in File Explorer? For getting ads right in the copy/paste experience for Teams and Skype? Let us know in the comments below.
