Showtime Anytime app now available on Xbox 360, arrives on Xbox One later this year

Showtime Anytime app is now available on Xbox 360, Showtime Networks announced. The service will be available to Xbox Live members subscribed to the premium cable channel. The app offers unlimited on demand access to hundreds of hours of programming and live broadcast of the network’s East Coast and West Coast feeds. The company also said that an Xbox One app is coming later this year.

Xbox Live members who don’t have a subscription to Showtime will still be able to watch Showtime Anytime and check out full episodes of select series for free. If you have a Kinect, you will be able to control your viewing experience using voice and gesture controls.

“Our goal is for our subscribers to have the ability to access their favorite Showtime series wherever, whenever and however they want to watch across multiple platforms, so we’re excited to bring our award-winning programs to Xbox Live’s growing membership of millions,” said Tom Christie, Showtime president.

Over the last few years, Xbox has added over 175 entertainment apps, which is likely to cross 225 by the end of 2014.
