PAX West 2017: Xbox One to receive new idle notifications
Announced at PAX West 2017, Microsoft will be bringing a new type of notification to its Xbox One console lineup – idle notifications.
If you’ve ever played a long game, then while waiting to join a new game you’ve let the console go idle, the Xbox One will be able to dim the screen slightly and, when receiving a notification, display it over half the screen, so that it catches your attention, reducing the need to focus so much on the console itself.
It is important to note that, while actively using the console, the current banner notifications will be staying as they are. This new notification type is only when the console is idle.
