The Microsoft Selfie app on iOS has updated to version 2.1.1 and has brought with it a host of new features that should please its many fans.

Among the new features added are a new timer (so users can take timed or delayed photos), new enabled share feature, and a new ability to send Microsoft app activity data to help them improve the app in future updates.

The most noteworthy new ability the app now has is support for selfie sticks. It’s kind of surprising that the app has taken so long to add support for this popular selfie accessory, if not provided it at launch, but it’s great that it’s finally here.

Backed by computer vision technology, Microsoft Selfie intelligently considers age, gender, skin tone, lighting, and many other variables all with one click. - Intelligent Portrait Enhancement: The app intelligently considers age, gender, skin tone and lighting when enhancing the portraits, and it will make the result much more natural.
- Noise reduction: In dim light condition, the app would automatically enable “Denoise” mode, and effectively reduce noise by using burst shots. When “Denoise” mode is enabled, you can see “Denoise” on the screen.
- Auto exposure: It can do automatic exposure correction and photo clarifying, especially for backlit photos. This function can be achieved when user chooses the “Boost” filter mode.

The Microsoft Selfie app has been incredible popular on iOS devices and received over half a million downloads within its first two weeks of release. There isn’t officially a Windows phone version of Microsoft Selfie however the official Lumia Selfie app is quite good and likely uses a lot of the same technology.
