Glide introduces updated client for Windows 10 Mobile

After debuting in Spring 2013 on iOS devices, popular video chatting service Glide finally became available on Windows phones last month. While the app is currently available on both Windows 10 Mobile and Windows Phone 8.1, the Glide team is sharing today in a blog post that it’s pushing an upgraded version of the video messenger app that is “fully leveraging Windows 10 Mobile capabilities and enhanced user experience.”

As Glide CEO Ari Roisman shared in today’s blog post :

“I am impressed by Microsoft’s new leadership and strategic initiatives, and am happy to offer the growing Glide community a seamless Windows 10 experience. By extending our unique video messaging platform in recent months to Windows Phone, Android Wear and Apple Watch, we are excited to see Glide help millions more people communicate with greater ease and expression.”

If you didn’t try the app yet, Glide is a free messaging app that allows users to effortlessly send inline video messages in a text-like format. The app is asynchronous in nature so messages can be viewed live or later, and all conversations are stored on Glide’s secure private cloud to not eat up precious space on your phone. Last, the app gives users complete control of their content so you’re free to unsend and delete your content from anywhere it was shared.

We’re always pleased to see developers embrace the Windows 10 platform, and according to Developer Experience and Evangelism Lead at Microsoft Israel Ruthy Kaidar the company worked closely with Glide to bring the best app possible to Windows phone users:

“The introduction of Glide to the Windows platform with the native Windows 10 offering last month has been a significant milestone in our collaboration with Glide as a trusted partner. We are thrilled to be working closely with Glide to continue improving the experience and offering worldwide.”

We can’t wait to see how the new app looks like and performs on Windows 10 Mobile. Did you already try Glide on your Windows phone? Please tell us what you think about it in the comments.

Update: Apparently, the app is now available in the Windows Store. So, go get it!
