Xbox One vs PS4 heats up even more as the E3 press conference takes place June 9th

The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) takes place June 10th and we are expected to hear a lot of gaming related news from the three day event. In fact, Microsoft is expected to hold an E3 press conference on June 9th. Not to be outdone, Sony will also hold a press conference on June 9th.

The war between the Xbox One and PS4 heats up as E3 is now just days away and Microsoft has a lot on the line in an attempt to beat the PS4 in terms of sales. Aside from gaming content, Microsoft is expected to unveil original TV programming from the Xbox Entertainment Studios. The company is also expected to further push the $399 Kinect-less Xbox One option, in an attempt to go head-to-head with the $399 PlayStation 4. Just recently, Microsoft rolled out an update to the Xbox One, adding external hard drive support, among other features.

\

To recap, Phil Spencer took the helm as the head of Xbox at the end of March. Spencer now oversees the Xbox and Xbox Live platforms, along with the creative teams at Microsoft Studios. Spencer has promised an “incredible new chapter” when it comes to gaming. Spencer has been at the helm when Microsoft announced the $399 Kinect-less Xbox One option, along with the Games with Gold perks for Xbox One owners.

\

Microsoft’s efforts in the gaming arena will be put to the test at E3. Going head-to-head with Sony, Microsoft has to showcase and prove to the world that the Xbox One is the better option to the PS4. In fact, Spencer has accepted the fact that Sony is a great brand and that Sony is not intimidated. “I don’t think Sony is intimidated. Sony is great brand and strong team. Competition is good, they’ll have a good E3,” Spencer stated via Twitter.
