A new update for the Xbox One Preview dropped over the weekend, and it is a doozy. The update fixes many known issues, and has some known problems seen in prior updates, but should still overall should make for a much better experience for Xbox One preview members.
The new update, rs1_xbox_rel_1608.160722-1911, resolves an issue which could cause certain universal apps (Movies & TV) language selections not to function properly on the console. It also delivers fixes for the Game DVR, fixes issues with the MSN app, and corrects an issue where UWA updates automatically started when launching the app. Moreover, issues with where UWAs were taking 5+ seconds to show splash screen on first launch with no indication of activity, and an issue where purchased gamertag changes were hanging in purchase flow. were also resolved in this update.
Of course, as much as it fixes, the update also brings many known issues. These issues include problems with Skype Notifications, Netflix not launching, and purchasing a gamertag change on the console. Issues with Pins disappearing, adding a new profile, Cortana language support, and loading and installing a large number of games and apps also wrap up the list.
So, if you’re an Xbox One Preview member, you can head over to All Settings > System > Console info & updates to grab up this latest preview update. As always, the update may take a while to roll out, so if you don’t see it at first give it some time.
