Xbox Game Pass $1 trial gets the axe once again ahead of Starfield launch

It appears as though the Xbox Game Pass $1 trial has once again been removed. As reported by Eurogamer and others the offer, which gave new members a 14-day Game Pass Ultimate trail of just $1, is no longer available on the sign-up page on Xbox.com.

This after the long-running $1-for-your-first-month offer was first suddenly cut earlier this year, only to return a few months later before being reduced to a 14-day trial. At this point it isn’t known whether the trial of gone for good.

Curiously, the removal of the $1 trial comes just ahead of next week’s Starfield release. (For those who bought the Premium Edition, early access will begin on Friday, September 1).

Next month will also see the transition of Xbox Live Gold into Xbox Game Pass Core. This slightly more affordable Game Pass tier will offer over 25 games from the Game Pass catalog including Gounded, Psychonauts 2, Forza Horizon 4 and more. Starfield however will not be included in the Game Pass Core lineup.
