Thanks to Microsoft’s Major Nelson, we learn that Microsoft will be turning on multiplayer gaming for everyone this weekend, at no cost, giving everyone the chance to go head-to-head with their favorite players.
Of course, Microsoft isn’t just being nice here. They want to convince you that Xbox Live Gold brings some serious value. At $9.99 a month or $59.99 for a year, Xbox Live Gold isn’t the least expensive option out there, but it does provide some advantages to Xbox 360 and Xbox One owners. Here’s a short list:
Free multiplayer gaming will last from October 9 through October 11, and will be available in all regions and for all supported games. It doesn’t look like Xbox 360 users need to do anything special, so go fire up some games and get playing.
