Windows Server 2019 Insider build 17738 is now available to download for Windows Insiders today, in addition to the freshly-released Windows 10 Redstone 5 build 17744. It’s quite unusual for to see new builds for both Windows 10 and Windows Server on the same day, but today’s releases are pretty minor updates.
The latest preview build of the Server OS introduces Host Device Access for Containers, allowing IT admins to assign buses like SPI, I2C and more to specific applications running in containers. Another improvement coming with this build is related to hybrid cloud scenarios and SDN High Performance Gateways. “Windows Server 2019 brings huge SDN gateway performance improvements for these hybrid connectivity scenarios, with network throughput multiplying by up to 6x,” the Windows Insider team wrote today.
As usual, Windows Insiders can download this new Windows Server 2019 build from the Windows Server Insider Preview download page, along with Microsoft Hyper-V Server and Windows Admin Center 1808.
