WhatsApp desktop will allow users to send high-quality photos soon

After being in beta for some time, WhatsApp was availed to all Windows users last year in August, meaning you can now download it from the Microsoft Store. What’s more, Meta revamped the app to give it a cleaner and more fluent design bringing it up to speed with the rest of Microsoft’s product lineup.

In a bid to enhance the app’s user experience further, Meta is currently working on a new feature that will let users send high-quality photos. If you’re an avid WhatsApp user, then you must’ve noted that pictures tend to lose their original resolution as well as clarity while sending photos to other users. This is because they’re compressed before being sent.

WhatsApp beta for Android will also get the same feature, though it is still in the works. It should also be noted that users will still be able to send compressed images even after Meta rolls out this feature to everyone. This will come in handy for users that want to save on space, besides, it will be set as the default option.

The feature will introduce two options through which users can send photos, that is, Standard quality or HD quality. Both options will obviously allow you to send high-quality photos compared to the default option that compresses them first.

Do you use Whatsapp on your Windows PC? Let us know below.
