There will be no updates for despicable me: minion rush for windows 8 and windows phone, the company says

Are you a fan of Despicable Me: Minion Rush on your Windows Phone or Windows 8 tablet? Well, there’s a piece of bad news for you. Gameloft announced on their Facebook page that they are discontinuing support for the app for Windows 8 and Windows Phone. Moving forward, there will be no updates for the app.

The company didn’t give out any explanation or a reason for this decision, but there’s a possibility that it may not be too feasible for the company to continue development of the app.

Here’s the official announcement on the company’s Facebook page:

Despite the incredible year we’ve had together with Despicable Me: Minion Rush it is with a heavy heart that we must announce the discontinuation of updates in the Windows 8 and Windows Phone versions of the game. To celebrate our partnership this past year, we want to reward our Windows users with a special gift that can be obtained in the game. Be assured that the game itself will remain available and playable on Windows.

This is definitely a sad news for all Despicable Me: Minion Rush fans. Let’s hope that Gameloft will change their mind, and make sure that there’s a decent app ready when Windows 10 is officially released.
