Stardock has released version 1.22 of Start11 today on May 3. The new update adds some new features, including improvements to the search experience, as well as the ability to add the seconds to the clock on Windows Insider versions of Windows 11.
With the enhancements to the Start11 search experience, if you use Edge as your default browser, opened tabs will now show up in search results. In addition, the search results experience has been tweaked so that your most recent app is boosted to the front of the results page.
As for the tweak to the clock in Windows Insider builds, it’s a small one. You’re able to show the seconds on the clock in the Taskbar, just like in Windows 10, on the Dev or Beta versions of Windows 11. According to Stardock, once Microsoft updates Windows 11, to a new build, everyone will see this option, but it’s still only Windows Insider for now.
“By adding little features like having your tabs surface in search results show, or customizing the Windows 11 style menu to add and remove sections, Start11 provides a robust set of controls and experiences to dial in your perfect Windows desktop,” said the Stardock team in a press release.
If you’re not already using Start11, you can download it here. The app costs $6 and is a great way to enhance your Windows 11 experience in ways that Microsoft won’t natively let you.
