Star Wars Battlefront II Video Game To Get New Aliens, Droid Heroes, Reinforcements, Skins, And Planet – onmsft.com

It’s an incredibly exciting time for Star Wars Battlefront II players with two updates coming this month and even more content having now been announced for January.

The first December update, which goes live on Xbox One consoles and PC in just a few hours, adds a good number of quality skins for Star Wars Prequel Era reinforcements in addition to some UI improvements and minor changes to gameplay and Hero characters.

The ARC Trooper will receive three new skins, the Commando Droid will get four, the Clone Commando two, and the Droideka will get its very first alternative skin.

You can check out some short video previews of the skins below and read the full release notes for today’s update here.

This month’s second update is set to launch on December 17th and will feature a variety of content inspired by Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker.

This update will add new skins/appearances for Finn, Rey, and Kylo Ren, will bring an entirely new planet to the game, and will also add four entirely new reinforcements.

Images of the Hero skins haven’t been released yet, however, it’s expected that the three characters will looks something like they do in all of the official photos and footage shown of The Rise of Skywalker.

The planet is unnamed but is confirmed to be the jungle planet as seen in the Episode IX trailer and TV spots. This map will be coming to the Heroes Versus Villains and Co-Op game modes this month and is confirmed to be coming to other game modes in January. Note that, while this update and most of its content will go live on the 17th, the planet will only be playable from the 20th, after The Rise of Skywalker debuts in cinemas.

The existing Sequel planets, Jakku, Takodana, and Starkiller Base will also be coming to Co-Op on the 17th.

The four reinforcements coming on the 17th will be the Sith Trooper, the First Order Jet Trooper, the Gunner, and the Spy. The former two will be playable under The First Order on Sequel Era maps while the latter two will be playable for those on the Resistance’s side. Interestingly, the Gunner and Spy units are confirmed to be two entirely new, yet-to-be-revealed, alien species from The Rise of Skywalker.

In January, Star Wars Battlefront II will be getting even more Sequel Era content with all maps from that trilogy being added to the popular Capital Supremacy game mode and the Instant Action mode. With the new era being playable in Capital Supremacy for the first time, two new capital ships will be added to the game; the Resistance MC85 and the First Order Resurgent-class Star Destroyer.

The biggest surprise coming out of all of these content announcements is the addition of BB-8 and BB-9E (see above image for their Sphero toys) as Hero characters in January. This means that BB-8 will literally be able to take on Darth Vader and General Grievous which should make for some rather entertaining on-screen action.

As with all post-launch content, everything in these updates will be completely free for all owners of the Star Wars Battlefront II video game though the skins will need to be unlocked with the Credits or Crystals in-game currencies.

Are you a fan of Star Wars Battlefront II video game and are you excited for all of this new content? Do you like the idea of BB-8 being a Hero character? Share your thoughts with the community in the comments below and then follow us on Pinterest for more Xbox gaming content.
