Microsoft has rolled out a new build of the Skype for Windows 8 app, which features contact blocking as well as various performance improvements. Microsoft continues to address user feedback and deliver the most requested features.

Got someone that keeps annoying you on Skype? Now you can block them! In this update, users can now block contacts and have higher control over who can contact them. All you have to do is select the person’s name to open up the chat window. From there, you can bring up the command bar and select block. You can even remove or report the contact as “spam.”

Microsoft has also made various other improvements including improving the load speed as well as reliability across the app. Contacts load speed is now faster than before, according to Microsoft.

Other issues that were fixed include outgoing video that was not displayed correctly after switching cameras in the Options menu, the wrong call error message was displaying in some instances, the app crashed on occasion when clicking the info menu, app crash when typing “batch” in the IM input field, and the inability to switch between calls on hold.
