Recent Windows 11 update causing issues, Microsoft confirms – onmsft.com

As usual, Microsoft releases the latest’s security update for Windows 11 to provide device stability, but the latest update causing new issues for some Windows 11 users. This news is officially confirmed by Microsoft.

According to the Windows Latest story, Microsoft has been releasing security patches since October 2003 and KB5016629 is the latest security patch update as a part of the August 2022 cycle. The update aimed to provide both security and nonsecurity improvements for supported hardware. This new August 2022 update is also causing problems for users, including a bug where the installation of the update would fail without any error message.

  • 2022-08 cumulative update for Windows 11 fails to update with the error ‘install error’.
  • It takes a long time to download and then comes with this error – no other information.

Also, Microsoft officially confirmed one known issue in the update- a bug that could break the XPS viewer and some users might be unable to open the XPS documents in some non-English languages including Chinese and Japanese languages. The bug “This page cannot be displayed” also causes high CPU usage and significantly increases the memory usage of the app.

In addition to fixes, cumulative updates are also causing some minor issues and the latest new security patch August 2022 update is no exception.
