Office Mix now integrates with Moodle, one of the most popular learning management systems

Earlier this month, we introduced to you the PowerPoint “superset” known as Office Mix. With Office Mix, students and teachers can annotate slides, add audio and video, and embed interactive elements like quizzes and even host them on OfficeMix.com.

Microsoft has announced today that Office Mix now integrates with Moodle, one of the most popular learning management systems. Moodle already has integration with existing Microsoft services, like OneNote, OneDrive for Business, and the Office 365 Outlook Calendar.

“We are thrilled with the opportunity to partner with Remote-Learner and integrate with the world-class Moodle learning management system.  Through our integration, Office Mix will provide a terrific, free experience for flipped classrooms and blended learning environments that educators can easily build using the familiarity of PowerPoint.” — Anoop Gupta, distinguished scientist for Office Mix.

This functionality is available from the Moodle plugin repository as two sets of integrated Moodle plugins, with the first one being an Office 365 plugin and the second one being a Microsoft Services plugin that provides integration with Office Mix. Both plugins are available on GitHub.

Office Mix, as well as this new partnership with Moodle, is Microsoft’s way to “empower” teachers around the world using technology, whether it be in the classroom or online. Check out a sample Mix below, showcasing the new integration with Moodle.
