As of today, Office Insiders in the Slow ring are now able to download Version 1612 (Build 7628.2048) for Office 365. There are plenty of new features for Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint across the board, so let’s dive into what’s been added.

As one of the most requested features across Microsoft Office 365, users will be able to access the recent activity of their shared files. You’ll be able to see who, what, and when content has been changed through Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. This feature will work for files in SharePoint, OneDrive for Business, and in OneDrive.

Furthermore, Excel is getting some minor additions that will make creating much more organized spreadsheets. Now users will be able to use the Surface Pen to resize, rotate, and move objects. Not to mention a quicker way to use it as a Lasso select tool. Users will also notice that Percentages are now supported along with some tweaks to binary combining and related function authoring.

PowerPoint and Visio also got some useful updates including:

  • Closed captioning and multiple audio tracks: If a PowerPoint slide contains a video that has closed captions or multiple audio tracks, you can now play these tracks in your slideshow.
  • Accessibility built right in: In Visio, we’ve improved support for using your keyboard, Narrator, and other assistive technology to work with shapes, edit with others, and more.
  • Visio Viewer for iPad and iPhone: You can now view Visio diagrams on iPad and iPhone in high fidelity, in the office or in the field. Download the app here.

All of these new features are available today for Office Insiders in the Slow ring. You can update your Office 2016 apps by navigating to File > Account > Update Options > Update Now.
