Nokia has released the first beta version of its Nokia Chat for Windows Phone 8, and has made it available to more countries as of today. This chat software is exclusive for Nokia Lumia handsets.

“The first beta release of Nokia Chat for Windows Phone is available in the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, India, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, and Nigeria. We’ll be expanding availability to more countries in the near future,” Nokia had stated on an official blog post on April 25th.

Nokia has now released this Beta to more countries, including Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Finland, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Peru, Spain, or Venezuela. These markets join those already supported: Australia, Canada, India, Ireland, United States, United Kingdom, New Zealand, South Africa, and Nigeria.

Nokia Chat for WP8 features person to person messaging utilizing Nokia Chat and Yahoo Messenger. The app allows you to scan your address book to find users who already use the app. The app features push notification support and Live tile updates, as well as the ability to send information about a restaurant, store, or other points of interest. In other words, those with a Lumia phone using this app can see details, directions, and reviews within the HERE Maps app. Hit the download below to snag the app.
