Microsoft’s new black Surface Go 3 leaks

Microsoft’s Surface Go 3, the company’s most affordable tablet released back in September should soon be available in a new black finish. Roland Quandt from the German blog Winfuture leaked today a couple of marketing pictures showing the new 10.5-inch tablet in black, and this will be a first for the Surface Go series.

If Microsoft’s latest Surface devices such as the Surface Pro X, the Surface Pro X, the Surface Laptop 4, and the Surface Duo 2 are all available in black, the Surface Go 3 is currently only available in the classic “Platinum” finish. According to the information Quandt got from online retailers, the black Surface Go 3 should start shipping in January, but it’s not clear yet if the black finish will be restricted to specific configurations, similar to what Microsoft does with other black Surface devices.

The Surface Go 3 currently starts at $399 for the base model with an Intel Pentium Gold processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of eMMC storage, and the high-end configuration with an Intel Core i3 CPU, 8GB of RAM, and a 128GB SSD starts at $629.99. The model with an LTE modem costs $100 more, and the Surface Type Cover and Surface Pen also need to be purchased separately.

Do you think the Surface Go 3 looks better in black, or do you prefer the traditional Platinum finish? Let us know in the comments below.
