Microsoft is once again discounting select Surface models on its US Store, and for a limited time you can save up to $400 off the 13-inch Surface Book 2, or up to $300 of the 15-inch model (via Neowin). If you’ve been looking at the 13-inch models, the one with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage receives the biggest discount ($400 off), and is currently priced at $1,099. All Core i7 models are also $300 off, with prices starting at $1,699.
As you may know, the Redmond giant recently released a cheaper 15-inch model with an Intel Core i5 processor, 16GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and no NVIDIA discrete graphics. This new variant launched with a $1,999 price, but it’s currently $200 off, making the 15-inch Surface Book 2 more affordable than ever. If you need more power, all Core i7 models (which include the NVIDIA GTX 1060 GPU) are also $300 off.
Microsoft’s Surface Pro 6 is also on sale these days, with all models except the base $899 configuration being $200 off. It would have been nice to see new Surface devices for the back to school season, but Microsoft is expected to be holding another hardware event this Fall. We expect to see updates for the Surface Pro, Surface Laptop and Surface Book this year, and it’s probably time for the company to finally add USB-C ports to the Pro and Laptop lines. The company also reportedly showed its new dual-screen Surface device codenamed “Centaurus” to select employees at a recent internal event, though this device and its OS may not be ready until next year.
