Microsoft’s Flight Simulator closed beta set to start on July 30

Microsoft’s new Flight Simulator will get its first closed beta on July 30, developer Asobo Studios announced yesterday. The developer has also released a fifth alpha build for select Insiders this week, and current alpha testers will be automatically granted access to the Closed beta.

If you didn’t get the chance to try alpha versions of the game on your PC so far, the developer will also send out new invitations for the upcoming closed beta. You can sign up for the game’s Insider program on the game’s website, and team publishes development updates quite frequently.

This new Flight Simulator game is pretty much the only next-gen game that is already playable today thanks to the official Insider program. The game made a big splash at Microsoft’s E3 2019 conference last year, and we wouldn’t be surprised if Flight Simulator makes an appearance at the company’s Xbox Game Showcase on July 23.

If the PC game has already been confirmed to be shipping on PC later this year, we don’t know yet when Xbox versions will be ready. This new Flight Simulator will be the most ambitious in the series to date, and developer Asobo Studios has already detailed the required PC specs back in April.
