Microsoft starts rolling out Designer in Word on the web

If the designer feature has long been available in Microsoft PowerPoint, it’s now finally coming to Microsoft Word. Harri Mikkanen, a Microsoft 365 Product Marketing Manager at Microsoft, confirmed in a tweet that the feature is now rolling out in the Word web app.

The new Designer feature facilities students and working professionals by transforming their documents into something special by automatically generating design suggestions. It also helps to detect formatting inconsistencies and makes it easier to fix issues accordingly. Designer improves the accessibility of Word documents by using semantic styles (such as title and headings).

Overall, the Designer feature should make it easier for writers to create more polished documents. However, Microsoft emphasized that it should help them create documents that convey their ideas effectively. “Designer helps writers create documents with a consistent look-and-feel. It provides a variety of themes to help writers create documents that better communicate ideas visually,” the company explained.
