Microsoft: Siri is nothing special, we’ve had it for over a year

In a recent interview with Forbes, Microsoft’s Cheif Research and Strategy Officer, Craig Mundie, stated that iOS’ Siri functionality is nothing unique, as Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform has used a similar Tellme technology for over a year.

Several of the comments made during the interview point out that Microsoft’s Tellme has been in Windows 7 for more than a year and that people are “infatuated” with Apple announcing Siri. Microsoft also pointed out that the iPhone 4S was not a “new thing” therefore Apple began focusing on Siri as a selling point. Microsoft even stated that they should “pick a feature and hammer on it harder.”

What do you guys think? Is Microsoft’s TellMe functionality equivalent to Apple’s Siri?
