Microsoft sends out invitations to its Mobile World Congress press conference

Mobile World Congress is just around the corner, and Microsoft will be there. The company has just sent out invitations to the event which will be held  March 2-5 2015 in Barcelona, Spain. More specifically, Microsoft’s press conference will be taking place on the first day of the conference at 8:30AM Eastern.

Since Microsoft’s acquisition of Nokia’s Devices & Services division, the software-turned-phone manufacturer has yet to release a Microsoft-branded flagship device, but according to recent rumors, it doesn’t seem like we’ll be seeing a Lumia 1030 or 1530 anytime soon. The first rumor came in December last year suggesting that no Microsoft flagship will be revealed until at least September 2015, and a second rumor from last month suggests that Microsoft will announce two Windows 10 Lumia devices at MWC 2015, but none of them will be a flagship device.

Still a rumor is just a rumor, we’ll just have to wait and see what Microsoft is ready to unveil during the event for ourselves. Who’s to say the company won’t surprise us like they did when the Lumia 930 was unveiled at last year’s MWC?
