Microsoft releases SDK update for Windows Kinect, introduces Windows 8 and China support

Microsoft have today released a new update for the Kinect for Windows SDK, which introduces Windows 8 support as well as launching in China. Kinect for Windows is just like Kinect for Xbox 360, but was designed for developers to create programs and concepts on the PC.

The updated SDK includes a number of new features, are of which are listed below.

– Improved developer tools
– Extended sensor data access
– Greater support for operating systems

“Windows 8 compatibility and VM support now mean Kinect for Windows can be in more places, on more devices. ” Stated the blog post.

Windows 8 is about to launch worldwide, so Windows for Kinect having developer support on Windows 8 is a good thing for developers who actually develop with the Kinect.
