Microsoft Re-enables Skip Ahead Option For Windows Insiders, Seats Will Again Be Limited – onmsft.com

Two weeks ago with Windows 10 Insider build 17713, Microsoft reset Skip Ahead and put everyone back in the Fast Ring. Living up to the past, Microsoft has followed up today to announce Insiders can now once again choose to “skip ahead” to the next Windows 10 release.

Skip Ahead is now open! #WindowsInsiders can now choose to “skip ahead” to the next feature update of Windows 10. Please note: Only a limited number of Insiders will be allowed to skip ahead and once that limit has been reached, Skip Ahead will be closed. pic.twitter.com/Uw1xvPntDf

Just as with the last two Windows 10 releases, Skip Ahead will again be limited to a few sets of Windows Insiders. It also branches the Windows Insider Program into RS5_Release (for everyone else) and RS_Prerelease (for Skip Ahead Insiders.)

Skip Ahead Insiders will continue to see inbox app updates from the Microsoft Store and get more unstable preview builds. Please be aware that once the Skip Ahead limit has been reached, Microsoft will close it off to ensure maximum quality feedback.

Webcast next week! Coinciding with the next #BugBash, we’ll be hosting a webcast on Wednesday, August 1st at 10am PDT (5pm UTC). Lots to talk about and of course… bug bashing! Tune in at https://t.co/gKWNaQ5FcM

Microsoft also announced a new Windows Insider webcast for Wednesday, August 1st, saying it will coincide with the next Bug Bash. We might still be waiting for a new build but development on Restone 5 is clearly winding down, and things will likely get more exciting for Skip Ahead Insiders in the coming days.
