Microsoft proceeds with the second wave of employee job cuts to realign company

July 15th, the day the public caught wind of the imminent job cuts for Microsoft employees. While these were just rumors at the time, fueled by hints that new Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella dropped in an email to all employees, it has since become a sad reality.

The acquisition of Nokia’s ‘Devices & Services’ division and all of its 25,000 employees is largely affected with 12,500 people finding themselves out of a job. Today, ZDNet reported that according to “sources close to the company”, the company is moving forward with its phased-out plan to realign the company, with this round of cuts spanning across all of Microsoft.

The report claims that this round of cuts will be announced internally on September 18th, suggesting that once again, the media has broken news on details of the cuts before the company, leaving Microsoft employees speculating and concerned about the day it all gets confirmed on.
