Microsoft introduces trial versions of Office 365 for Australian nonprofits

Microsoft is showing its support for nonprofits and NGOs (non-governmental organizations) in Australia by introducing a new trial version of Office 365. This is part of the company’s new, and suitably named, Office 365 for Nonprofits software donation program which will enable qualifying organizations to obtain Office 365 either for free or at dramatically discounted rates.

At the moment there is no word on quite when the free or discounted Office 365 licenses will be made available, but the free trials serve to kick things off. In fact, organizations who take advantage of the trial will be able to extend the trail period on a month to month basis until Office 365 for Nonprofits is properly launched.

Microsoft says that “Office 365 for Nonprofits allows organizations to spend less time on IT maintenance, while providing access to always up-to-date technology that is simple and easy to use… and… is backed by… a 99.9 percent financially backed uptime guarantee”.

Australian nonprofits and NGOs can check whether they are eligible for the program by paying a visit to the Office 365 website.
