Japan is not the best market for Windows Phone. According to Kantar’s figures for the month of May, the market share for Windows Phone on Japanese shores was almost 1.4 percent, with iOS being on top with 51.1 percent. In an effort to increase it presence in the country, the company has organized an event — Nokia Con — where they will showcase several Windows Phone handsets so that users could get some hand-on experience of the operating system.

It’s a great effort to let people know what Windows Phone can do, especially after the launch of the Windows Phone 8.1 operating system. The devices powered by the new OS are widely available across the globe. There’s no word about the devices which will be on display, but there’s a likelihood that Nokia Lumia 930 as well as the budget-friendly Lumia 630/635 may hit the stage.

To visit the event, you must register for it, as there are limited number of seats available. You can check out this link to try your luck if you’re in Japan, but at the time of writing this, the capacity was full. It strange the capacity was set to just 60 seats, but it could be due to the fact that Windows Phone is not very popular in the region.
