Microsoft has announced that version 105 of Microsoft Edge has shipped to the Beta Channel. Aside from the regular policy updates it also features two notable enhancements. (via Neowin)
First up is the enhanced Cloud Site List Management experience for IE mode which allows the user to revert back to one of the last three published versions of their site list in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. What’s more, this enhancement is available in GCC (Government Community Cloud), therefore, the user can identify gaps in the enterprise list by configuring reporting of site feedback with the two availed policies.
On top of that, users will also be able to access the local site list URLs from users and potentially misconfigured neutral site URLs in the Microsoft Edge site lists experience in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. And finally, users will have the capability to configure session cookie sharing between Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer for IE Mode on your site list in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
Here are the policy updates as per Microsoft’s changelog:
Policy Updates:
- ExemptFileTypeDownloadWarnings – Disable download file type extension-based warnings for specified file types on domains
- InternetExplorerIntegrationAlwaysWaitForUnload – Wait for Internet Explorer mode tabs to completely unload before ending the browser session
- MicrosoftEditorProofingEnabled – Spell checking provided by Microsoft Editor
- MicrosoftEditorSynonymsEnabled – Synonyms are provided when using Microsoft Editor spell checker
- PrintPdfAsImageDefault – Print PDF as Image Default
- UnthrottledNestedTimeoutEnabled – JavaScript setTimeout will not be clamped until a higher nesting threshold is set
In other Edge related news, the latest Microsoft Edge Beta release turned on basic security enhancements by default. As usual, if you’re an Edge Insider, this latest release should automatically install for you. If that is not the case you can trigger the update by visiting Edge’s Settings menu, then click on Help and Feedback, select About Microsoft Edge, and then wait for the browser to download the update.
