Up until recently, Microsoft wasn’t pushing out new Windows Insiders builds to HoloLens at a quick rate, but that is now changing. According to a report from Windows Central, the latest Windows 10 Redstone 5 build is now available for Fast Ring HoloLens users too.
There’s no official word yet on what is new or changed in this HoloLens build, but it’s being made available via Windows Update for those who have already installed the April 2018 update on the device. Windows Central reports that the latest Redstone 5 build introduces some under the hood changes for HoloLens, working reveal effects in Edge and Settings, and more translucent and blur effects.
A separate report also makes it clear that Microsoft will officially roll out the April 2018 Update for HoloLens on June 26. This means that starting on that date, users will no longer need to flash (and erase) HoloLens headsets to get the April 2018 Update or these new Redstone 5 builds.
There’s a lot of new features for HoloLens in the April 2018 Update, and with new Redstone 5 builds coming, it definitely nice to see that HoloLens is getting some Insider love.
