Over the weekend, visual evidence of a new, iOS-ported version of Instagram for Windows 10 Mobile devices surfaced, and now it looks like the private beta has gone public. You can now download and install the official Instagram beta for Windows 10 Mobile devices (use the download link below, or check the Windows Store).
Be forewarned, the app is not without problems, and the version notes do sound a little daunting:
Instagram Windows Beta v1. Known issues:
- Facebook login
- “Share to” functionality
- Crashes/stability in creation workflow
Still, as both a “Project Islandwood” iOS port, and as a seemingly rare example of a major independent software developer working with Windows 10 Mobile, the new app, even in rough form, is a positive sign.
