Over the past few weeks, we’ve seen several leaked images of the upcoming HTC One for Windows, but it seems it’s not the name it will launch with — if the latest report is correct. It could launch with its existing name, that is, HTC One M8, as per the leaked Verizon banner which is expected to be placed outside retail locations on Tuesday.
Recently, the folks at WPCentral received an image showing the Verizon banner for the Windows Phone powered HTC One M8. The banner mentions the same name, and mentions, “Available now on Android or Windows.” It’s not the first time information has leaked from Verizon’s side, previously, some press renders of the HTC One M8 with Windows Phone was spotted on the company’s servers.
The specifications of the device should be similar to the current HTC One M8, with one major change — Windows Phone 8.1 as the operating system. As a quick recap, the HTC One M8 rocks a 5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 801 SoC, 2GB of RAM, 16GB expandable storage, Duo cameras and a 2,600 mAh battery.
HTC’s event is scheduled for tomorrow and will kick off at 10AM in NYC. We’ll update you as soon as HTC announces the handset officially.
