For those who weren’t convinced about the HTC One W8 Windows Phone handset, a new leaked image from none other than the giant carrier Verizon should convince you that it does exist. In fact, this leaked image proves that it will be available on Verizon.
We have been hearing about the possibility of HTC releasing a flagship Windows Phone handset for quite some time now. The company released its flagship smartphone, HTC One (M8), earlier this year. Many leaks have since suggested HTC One (W8) in the works, however, the nature of the current leak is as commendable as it gets. The image has a Verizon Wireless URL, and is hosted on the network’s own server.
HTC will be holding an event in New York on August 19th. At this point, it seems like the company may officially take the wraps off the HTC One (W8) at the event.
Upon investigating on the screenshot, we spotted several HTC exclusive apps on the home screen. For instance, the screenshot suggests that the company will bring its news-feed app, BlinkFeed, to the Windows Phone. Whereas, availability of Cortana confirms that it is running on Windows Phone 8.1 or higher. Notably, the handset is bringing its own camera app, dubbed as ‘HTC Camera’.
The handset has virtual navigation keys, which will hide when not in use. Since it is very much like the HTC One (M8), we also have some idea on the hardware specifications of the device.
It could sport a 5-inch full HD display, and might also have company’s signature Boomsound speakers. Inside the brushed metallic body, will sit a Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.3GHz. It should come with 2 gigs of RAM, 16/32GB storage, and support for microSD card. But do note that HTC might make some changes to specifications, perhaps to keep the hardware up to date.
What do you think about it? Would you consider purchasing one of these?
