Happy New Year to all our readers. 2012 has come to a close and it has brought us many gripping news stories, as well as the release of Windows 8, Microsoft’s new operating system, as well as Surface RT. We will be posting a 2012 recap post soon so stay tuned. In the mean time, thank you for making this year so great and we look forward to 2013!

We would like to announce a new section to our site called “apps.” The apps section showcases all our Windows Store app highlight posts, which we plan on doing a lot more frequently now. This will be our way of bringing an app available for download in the Windows Store (free or paid) to your attention, so you can check it out. If you are an app developer and want your app featured, simply contact us. In the meantime, we will continue posting Windows Beta software downloads (32bit/64bit) but it will be condensed into a post once a week and the Betas section will no longer be available via the navigation bar.

For those who missed it, we just recently released our very own WinBeta Metro app and it is now available for download in the Windows Store (or you can just click the “Windows 8/RT app” button on our sidebar. Now you can sit on the couch and read our latest news on your Windows RT or Windows 8 device. The app is very simple and provides you with a simple rss reader that fetches the newest stories and even automatically updates the feed every other minute in case a new story is available.

\

Also, if you are interested in becoming a news writer on our site (full time or part time) and you love to read/write about Microsoft related topics such as Windows 8, Surface, Windows Phone 8, Xbox, and more, then we are looking to add you to our family! Check it out and let us know!
