Steve Ballmer most certainly didn’t let himself get bored in the weeks leading up to his retirement from Microsoft. According to a new article from Business Insider, Ballmer had been staying plenty busy during the end of his time with the Redmond giant – with golf and Netflix.
While golf became his passion in the time following his retirement – a hobby he enjoyed “nearly every minute” after leaving – Ballmer had apparently spent the time before the split watching “The Good Wife” on Netflix. He admitted to watching over 100 episodes in this time.
“I binged in this show ‘The Good Wife.’ I watched 100 episodes of ‘The Good Wife’ in three weeks. That was actually before I retired. I had everything planned out so that we were going to announce my successor before Christmas. And then the board decided not to. They hadn’t made a final call. Can you start a new project when you think you have two weeks left or three weeks left? So I said, now what do I do?” Ballmer laughed and mimed using the TV remote control.
While it isn’t the most earth-shattering news, stuff like this is always fun to hear. Next time you feel bad about sitting on the couch for a weekend catching up on House of Cards or Game of Thrones, just remember – the head of one of the biggest companies on the planet once fit 100 episodes of The Good Wife into just a few weeks.
