WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging apps in the world, with over 2 billion users, and now a newly redesigned app is coming to the PC. WhatsApp has launched a redesigned app on the Microsoft Store for Windows 10 as well as Windows 11. According to a post over at Thurrott, the app has been in beta, but is available for all Windows users from the Microsoft Store. The newly redesigned interface looks cleaner and more consistent with the Windows interface.

Also, some great news for all WhatsApp desktop users, the new Windows app no longer needs to be connected to WhatsApp on your phone at all times. Although users do need to scan the QR code with WhatsApp on users’ smartphones to log in to this new Windows app.

Meta, WhatsApp’s (and Facebook’s) parent company, currently has been testing multi-device support for WhatsApp, which allows users to use WhatsApp on up to four linked devices at the same time. The new WhatsApp desktop app’s early beta is far faster than the existing one as reported by 9to5 Mac.
