Fitbit is a popular name when it comes to fitness trackers. The smartband has dedicated apps on both Android and iOS, but Windows Phone was long forgotten. However, it seems this may not be the case with Windows Phone 8.1. At the company’s community forums, one of the representatives confirmed they are working on a Windows Phone 8.1 app.
The answer was quite short, but it delivered what Windows Phone users wanted to know, “Fitbit is developing an application for Windows Phone 8.1. Thank you for all your feedback and support!” Unfortunately, the rep didn’t give out an expected availability date, but it’s always good to know the company is working on it.
Windows Phone 8.1 has narrowed the feature gap of Microsoft’s operating system compared to Android and iOS. The addition of the action center, Cortana, custom Start screen backgrounds, and more have been welcomed by the users. The new operating system is available in the form of a developers preview, which can be installed by all users out in the wild. The official roll out is expected to kick off by the end of this month for existing handsets, but devices running the latest OS are already launched in several markets.
