Fresh leaks seem to confirm the rumors that Call of Duty 2023 will be a continuation of last year’s CoD title, Modern Warfare II. Speculation has been hot and heavy online over recent months, with the leading consensus being that the next game in the series would be named Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III.
This appears to be the case judging by leaked images, which have now been taken down, showing MWIII branding on Monster Energy cardboard packaging.
The images were first posted by Twitter user @algebra_sloth. The official Call of Duty Twitter account responded with “Whew. Mondays. Anyone have an energy drink they can spare?” Which isn’t exactly a denial of the leak’s authenticity.
While some believe Call of Duty 2023 will be officially revealed during the MWII season 5 announcement on August 19, it seems more likely that it will happen during this year’s Call of Duty NEXT event sometime in September.
