Bing Brings Sound To Its Homepage – onmsft.com

Bing home page

A few days ago, Bing announced a new feature that will bring sounds to its homepage. As millions of people know, the Bing home page has a background image that changes daily. Not only does the image add a welcome variety to online searching, but now, if you press a button in the bottom right corner, you can hear a caption of sound related to the hero image.

Bing has evolved over its lifetime. They brought HTML5 video to the homepage in 2011. The next year they introduced interactive panoramic images. It seems user requests inspired the latest feature.

The button isn’t there every day. But expect to “hear rushing waterfalls, distinct animal calls, or waves lapping the shores of a faraway beach” on a homepage near you soon.

Bing is actively seeking out what you would like to hear. Drop them a note on Bing Listens if you have any ideas.
