Bing best-sellers carousel makes finding The New York Times' best-sellers simple and fast

Bing has added a new search function to its search engine; The New York Times’ best-seller carousel. In an attempt to make it faster to find books on the New York Times best-seller list, you can search Bing by category, title, or category. Fiction, non-fiction, kids’ books; you name it, Bing will bring up a list of the books on the New York Times best-sellers list. Books are ranked by The New York Times via weekly or monthly sales statistics.

According to Bing Blogs, Bing suggests searching using these search examples:

  • best-selling fiction
  • nonfiction best-sellers
  • best-selling kids’ books
  • current times best business books

It looks like “best-selling,” “best-seller(s),” or “times” has to be somewhere in the Bing search query or you will get no results. Once the best-seller carousel is displayed, you can click on individual titles to find out more information about each book; like the book’s Wikipedia page, where to buy the book, etc. As The New York best-sellers list changes, so does the carousel. This new Bing search feature is a great way to find books, but Bing still needs to work on this feature to make it successful.
