Nokia Lumia devices

For those of you who own a Nokia Lumia 820 or Lumia 920 Windows Phone 8 device on the ATT network, you are in for a treat today. ATT is now rolling out the Nokia Amber update along with the Windows Phone 8 GDR2 update for your handsets!

For those that didn’t know, Windows Phone 8 GDR2 update brings along the FM radio which was already available on the previous on Windows Phone 7.X, and the option to choose the default camera app that will be launched using the Camera button. Other fixes and improvements in the update address the notorious “Other Storage” bug, some improvement to the Xbox Music app, and Bluetooth. Unfortunately, it looks like Data Sense is not available, thanks to AT&T! You can use the myAT&T app instead.

You can see an entire list of new features that come with GDR2 by visiting this link here.

The Nokia Amber update is simply a firmware update that brings along new features such as the Glance screen, Nokia Pro Camera and Smart Camera, default camera support, flip to silence, Call + SMS blocking, color profile, double tap to wake, improved image processing and Bluetooth technology.

On your Lumia 820 or Lumia 920 device, head over to Settings > Phone Update > Check for updates to begin the update process. After the update, your firmware version will be 1325 and the operating system version will be 10327.

Let us know in the comments below if you successfully updated to GDR2 and Amber and if you love or hate any of the new features.
